Here are the management strategies voted on by TRC members at the winter TRC meeting.
1) Attempt to harvest bucks with a minimum of four points on one side.
2) Attempt to harvest one doe for every buck harvested on a property, two if possible.
3) If a hunter chooses to harvest another buck it should be bigger than their first buck.
4) Encourage youth hunters to harvest does in the early youth hunt.
These are the 4 main strategies that were agreed upon for all TRC properties. If you want to take this a step farther, do it. On the properties I hunt we are going to allow any one of the hunters who hunts on it, and has never harvested a buck, harvest any buck they want. They can wait or shoot, it is up to them. We are also going to allow hunters who are 65 and older to shoot any buck they want. Why one might ask, because who knows how many more chances they are going to get to be in the woods and enjoy the opportunity to hunt.
